Serendipity
I have heard a lot of rumblings about the social web creating serendipitous moments, but I never “got it” until now. A few days ago my friend was in Maui and he posted a picture of the beach to a private group of my friends on Facebook. I saw the photo and surprisingly recognized a girl in the distance who was a good friend of mine. She moved to Maui about a year ago. I called her cell phone. When she answered I asked if she was on the beach…she said yes…I asked her if she was wearing green…she said yes. At first it felt almost creepy, but then I explained what had happened. With me on the phone, she walked up the beach and introduced herself to my friend Ryan. They hung out the rest of the day and became friends. It was very cool. Those types of moments are happening more and more often…and I guess that is what everyone is talking about.

Awesome post by Chrys Bader about creating great products.
Stripe is amazing.

I have used PayPal for years to set up payment systems and subscription plans. Stripe is so much more functional and a really lovely product. I wish I could invest in this company.
Shirtcake - Find comfy vintage tees on eBay
A little site I whipped together using the eBay developer API. It filters through eBay’s search results and lets you find soft vintage t-shirts that fit great.
I woke up a few days ago and noticed that my Nest thermometer had a 1 pixe wide red line down the center of its screen. I called Nest support, sent them a photo, and they shipped me a new one. It arrived today. Hooray for great customer service.
